This pillow is soft and sinky, with just the right amount of backspring for gentle support. At 72 inches, it’s longer than most body pillows, which is better for aligning the knees and ankles of taller sleepers.
This denser pillow supports the hips, knees, and abdomen exceptionally well. The shredded memory foam fill molds to the body to support the areas that need it most.
The Company Store’s Down-Free Fill Body Pillow was the cushiest, most comfortable body pillow we tested. It’s ideal if you like to hug a pillow at night and need only mild to medium support for your shoulders, hips, and ankles. The down-alternative fill is light and springy with medium resistance, so it felt nicely squishy but didn’t collapse like other pillows we tried. It was also more flexible and malleable than the competition, letting stomach- and side-sleepers bend the pillow with their bodies. At 72 inches, it’s 18 inches longer than most of the other pillows we tested, so it can easily accommodate tall sleepers. The all-cotton cover feels softer and smoother than any other pillow we tried, and the pillow comes with a lifetime guarantee.
The Snuggle-Pedic Memory Foam Body Pillow is the best choice for people who need more support when they sleep—for example, pregnant people or those who need extra hip or knee support. You can shift and press the shredded memory foam fill to customize the support better than in other pillows. The slightly lumpy cut-up foam fill can feel odd at first, but we know from testing shredded memory foam bed pillows that most sleepers tend to get used to the texture. Though it’s firmer and heavier than the Company Store pillow, the Snuggle-Pedic is still one of the most flexible pillows we tested, easily bending into different positions.
If the Snuggle-Pedic is unavailable, the Coop Home Goods shredded memory foam body pillow is a decent replacement. It’s a bit heavier and denser, but you can adjust the fill to customize the firmness.
If you need a more supportive body pillow and the Snuggle-Pedic is unavailable, we also like the Coop Home Goods shredded memory foam pillow. It has a similar shredded memory foam fill, but you can open up the zippered casing to add or remove fill to tailor the firmness to your liking (something we didn’t find with any other pillow). Our testers found this pillow a little thicker, heavier, and less malleable than the Snuggle-Pedic. Removing some of the fill might make this pillow more moldable, but we think you get just the right amount of fill with the Snuggle-Pedic. Our testers also prefered the Snuggle-Pedic’s smoother cover to the more pronounced texture of the Coop Home Goods.
It’s not as cushy, malleable, or supportive as our main picks, but the Newpoint had the best balance of softness and support of any inexpensive body pillow we tried.
*At the time of publishing, the price was $22.
Though not as soft, supportive, or well-constructed as our other picks, the Newpoint is a decent, basic pillow for a fraction of the price. It had the softest cover and smoothest fill of any of the inexpensive pillows we tried. While other cheap pillows were lumpy, too thick and lofty, or thin and flat, the Newpoint Home had the best combination of softness and support.
This is made from one of the silkiest, most luxurious sateen sheeting fabrics that we’ve tested. It will fit most standard-size body pillows and comes in the most colors we’ve found.
Though we haven’t tested it, we’re confident in recommending The Company Store’s Body Pillow Cover alongside our best pillow pick, the Down-Free Fill Body Pillow, also by The Company Store. A standard body pillowcase won’t be long enough to fit the extra-long Company Store pillow, but this corresponding case should be a perfect fit. We love the feel of the fabric on the pillow itself, and the pillowcase is made from very similar all-cotton, 210-thread-count percale, which should feel cool and crisp during the night. The pillowcase has a zipper, which will keep the case from gaping or falling off (a common problem with regular bag-style cases).
Cuddledown’s luxurious body pillowcase is made from the same high-quality 100 percent cotton sateen fabric as our upgrade sateen pick for the best sheets. We love this fabric because it is silky, smooth, and strong, and wrinkled less than any other sheets we tested. The case also comes in a whopping 23 colors, so you’re likely to find something that suits your bed. Cuddledown’s body pillowcase is 64 inches long and will easily fit all three of our favorite 54-inch body pillows.
This all-cotton sateen pillowcase was one of the highest-rated cheap cases we could find, but it won’t feel as soft as our other picks.
*At the time of publishing, the price was $15.
We didn’t test the all-cotton American Pillowcase Body Pillowcase, but it’s one of the best-rated and most popular body pillowcases on Amazon. It’s almost half the price of our other picks, so we think it’s a great option if you’re looking for an inexpensive cover to protect your new body pillow. It won’t feel as satiny and soft as the premium fabric of the Cuddledown pillowcase, but most reviewers found the American Pillowcase’s sateen weave to be decently smooth and durable (some negative reviewers do complain that it’s rough or scratchy). It comes in several muted colors, including white and ivory in both solid and damask stripe. At 60 inches long, it will also fit all three of the 54-inch pillows we recommend.
